Question for both candidates:

I asked during the candidates night if you both supported having the Library trusties meetings televised just as other committees and commissions are now. Both of your responded that you would support such a move.

As a follow up, would you both support making the Trustee meetings a regular and predictably scheduled meeting like most other committees and commissions?

This would seem to be a logical requirement to coordinate broadcast availability, but I wanted to explicitly ask the question. I would also think this would help make the meetings more accessible to the public because they could have known dates when the meetings were taking place, and could make accommodations to attend.

Yes, it should be in the by-laws that the meetings should be held with x amount of frequency.
This makes it easy for people to plan to attend.
Plus the library is a big ticket item within the Town Budget.
Regular meetings are a must and should be consistent.

Obviously, there are groups, such as the Website committee, who do not hold regular meetings.
But they really don't need to have a meeting unless there is some specific item to discuss.

Michelle,
What are your thoughts about Dottie and Tom Jr. going on a Town paid PLA course in Philadelphia, PA for several days? Cost is $1800 to the taxpayers of Danville and that is just for the course according to the Libraries submitted budget. Is this fiscally responsible in your opinion?
Thank you,

At this time I don't have an opinion.
I don't know anything about the "PLA course".
I don't know what they will be learning or the advantage of going is.
I don't know if there was an alternative to actually traveling to Pennsylvania (such as teleconferencing, or a similar class locally).

Therefore, whether this is fiscally responsible or not, I cannot say because I don't have all the facts.
