Nashua and Rochester Railroad

Postby curt » Mon Apr 11, 2011 9:32 pm

This is the most complete history I have found of the Nashua and Rochester Railroad, which ran through Sandown and the NW corner of Danville and is now the Rockingham Trail in our town and adjacent towns.

I had known that they took the ROW for Route 125 from Epping to Barrington, but I was not aware until now that Route 111 between Hudson and Windham also runs along the ROW.

As you drive on Route 111 west across the Merrimack River from Hudson to Nashua, as you look to your left (south) you will see the massive stone piers where the railroad bridge stood.
