Take a closer look and you will see that it isn't the PD pickup, at least not the new one. When I drove past this morning it appeared to be a 2 door truck without any insignia on it. Only the cab appeared to be covered so possibly the windshield is broken and they are trying to protect it from the rain.

How is this a "strange" truck? Vehicles are parked there all the time that aren't town owned. It is very possible that the PD are holding this vehicle as part of an investigation or it could have been donated to the FD for training. I don't see this as strange or out of place given the nature of the building it is parked behind.

Maybe it was damaged by the town monkey back from Florida on winter vacation

I am sure this vehicle is part of an investigation, the PD or the fire department are not just parking vehicles behind the building for no reason.
