Bingo/poker operator scouts out Plaistow

How has this not come up in discussion here? Anyone know if this is moving forward at all?

But the short version is that someone has been meeting with the planning board about opening a bingo and poker room in Plaistow.

PLAISTOW — Tuesday night bingo has been a staple at the Fish and Game club on May Ray Avenue. But local game operators could be in for a bit of competition if a commercial bingo and poker parlor opens its doors.

It's not a done deal, but Jamie Timbas of Bedford, who operates successful bingo parlors in Manchester and Concord, is eyeing Route 125 as a new location.

Timbas was at the Planning Board meeting Wednesday with Universal Charitable Gaming business partner Dan Brown of Wakefield, Mass.

Brown did most of the talking and said the purpose of the trip was to get local officials feelings about a possible move into the vacant Shaw's Supermarket at 9 Plaistow Road or an operation at Sawyer's Banquet and Function Facility at 182 Plaistow Road.

I scan the ET and post almost all articles with direct references to Danville. As for other articles, depends if they catch my interest. When this article was published I was busy with visiting family and didn't post much of anything that was not directly connected to Danville.

I wonder if this will go anywhere? Doesn't look like the Guv will be approving any casinos anytime soon so there will continue to be a market for smaller local "charity" games.

It's a shame. Looks like MA will beat us to the punch and capitalize on this opportunity.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. - Thomas Jefferson

To compel a man to furnish contributions of money for the propagation of opinions which he disbelieves and abhors, is sinful and tyrannical. - Thomas Jefferson

Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one. - Benjamin Franklin

I think Lynch is being shortsighted on this one. Jobs, tax income and much of it coming from out of state. I could see it bringing more entertainment oppertunities (lots of concerts and shows at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun) as well. Rockingham Parlk and Seabrook are close enough to interstates to minimize traffic issues as well.
