Lost Dog - Sandown/Danville

Postby MuttMinion » Mon Oct 03, 2011 4:25 pm

Posted on Craigslist Lost & Found. I spotted a couple posters on Sandown Road and 111A this afternoon, but they're very small and illegible unless you get out and read them up close. This is the info from that poster...

Retriever/Aussie mix, black (with some white on back feet), 9 months old, ~75#, lost 9/25/11 around Cub Pond area of Sandown/Danville. Wearing blue checkered collar with tags and choke chain. Shy, so please don't chase. Just call 887-5000 or 247-7156 to report a sighting.

Thank you.

Sighting update from CL:

"Update on missing dog Coby. A UPS driver said she saw a large black dog in Danville in the long pond road/Kingston Road area on Friday, Sept. 30th. If you live, know someone, drive through that area including surrounding roads, Pine St, 11A, and especially if you do recreation on the trail following the power lines in Danville, Sandown, and you see a medium to large black dog, please call 603 247-7156 or 603 887-5000. He has been missing 9 days now and may appear neglected or a "stray" who has no owner. HE IS NOT He has a collar (red or blue checkered) and silver choke chain but they may have come off. The cloth collar has a tag with his name and phone. He may not come to you especially into a car. He's friendly but somewhat stranger shy. PLEASE call if any sighting."

New Sighting!

At 7am this morning, Coby was seen on Pine Street near Crestwood Drive. He was spotted earlier this week again in the Long Pond and Kingston Road areas. He's likely travelling along the power line ROW and water ways. Please contact the family at 603 247-7156 or 603 887-5000 if you see him. Don't call his name, or try to catch him, just alert the family.

Thank you!

Poor little guy. He must be tired, hungry and wet. I sure hope he is able to be reunited with his owners soon.

As do we all, Thundergirl! At least we know that he got through the cold spell of the last couple nights.

Another sighting, around 6:15pm tonight on David Lane in the Colby Pond subdivision. He was eating trash... :( The family were going to get over there, but I haven't heard yet if they had any luck. It's still likely that he's travelling along the power lines and popped out in that neighborhood. Lost dogs tend to move at night, starting around dusk and then find a place to hide early morning.

Thats exactly right..........Sam the Golden Ghost on the run for 2yrs........that is exactly what he did and he knew trash days in the area...............smart dogs for sure. I spoke with the Pam last night, the owners and offered my services to them. I do worry about some of these groups who call them selves rescues getting into trouble and getting hurt or bite.......

I still care ex ACO or not

Here's an updated craigslist link. Lots of folks are keeping an eye out for Coby. He sure is a resiliant little fella.

Thanks for posting that update, Thundergirl. I usually check CL regularly, but obviously missed that one. Very relieved to know he made it through the storm. Hadn't heard anything since the Raymond sighting early last week. The owners are doing a good job getting posters up so more people are aware. Yes dogs, and cats, are remarkable survivors when that instinct kicks in, but it can also make it more challenging to find them. It'll happen for Coby!

As an aside, if anyone is in the Exeter/Epping area, there's also a lost female Australian Shepherd who's been on the run since August. She was last spotted Wednesday afternoon behind the Epping Walmart... http://nh.craigslist.org/laf/2579168552.html (there have been more recent postings but this is the last one with a picture).

Instructions say do not chase or call his name, just report the sighting.
Kudos to Granite State Dog Recovery for their efforts towards Coby and many other lost dogs.
Fingers crossed for a successful outcome.

That's very hopeful news, Thundergirl! GSDR is an extremely dedicated and persistent group of caring people. It's just a matter of time before Coby is home again.

Thanks for posting!

Coby continues to be spotted in the Pine Street area, but he has a doppelgänger too, who was seen on the trail camera. Anyone else in the area missing a dog??
